Pick a pattern, any pattern from Summer Lee Design Co. or her book (The Sock Project) available in the shop and join us starting now and into summer. I have made socks, reluctantly. There are loads of adorable patterns out there and my mom was a constant sock knitter. I never caught the bug. Many of you that come into the shop always have a sock going. Not me, well… I will have a sock going but never a sock finished. When I saw The Sock Project pop up on my screen from somewhere I ordered it immediately. Pre-ordered it actually and then waited… When it arrived I was convinced ~ everyone should knit socks.
The book has a wonderful layout and all the colors are so inspiring ~ it has you wanting to make every single pair!
Simple patterns, with simple heels. More complex patterns with the heels constructed in a different way will keep your interest as you move through the book. Summer has wonderful videos to help you along if you aren’t able to make it in to the shop or you are looking for some entertainment while you knit. She has a fun personality and makes everything feel doable.
There is not a shortage of sock minis or whole skeins in the shop to chose your first pair and join us in our sock a long. No registration required, as always the help is free. Come in when you need help or when you just want to hang out and see what others are working on.

I was gifted this book but I am intimidated. I have knitted a few projects and understand basic stitches but I think I need a little hand-holding to get through the heel. I’m right outside of Des Moines so I’ll call to coordinate with you. I’d like to spend some time knitting in shop with you for some “just in case” I need help. It will be my first pair of socks.
