A cozy little yarn shop where makers gather to slow down, learn a new stitch, and turn quiet evenings into something soft and lasting.

Loved by 200+ local makers

What started as a love passed down from a grandmother's craft closet has grown into a gathering place — a softly-lit corner of West Des Moines where beginners cast on for the first time and seasoned makers come back to share what they've made.

From TeresaOn my needles this month
I was looking for a striped short-sleeved top and couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I turned to PetiteKnit for inspiration. I discovered her Aros Sweater, knit by holding fingering and mohair double with a raglan sleeve. Voilà. I substituted the suggested yarn, used the same needle, got the same gauge, and made it short-sleeved. I added the little pop of orange for something fun for summer.
Yarn, books, accessories, and tools, chosen by someone who actually knits. The full selection is at the shop. Come see what's new or call ahead and we'll set something aside.

Knit nights, weekend workshops, trunk shows, and pop-ups — there's almost always something happening at the shop.

I came in to learn how to knit and stayed for the people. Six months later, my first sweater is on the needles.
