Our story

A shop built on quiet hours and good company.

What started as a love passed down from a grandmother's craft closet has grown into a gathering place — a softly-lit corner of West Des Moines where beginners cast on for the first time and seasoned makers come back to share what they've made.

Put your phone down. Pick up something soft. Stay a while.

Teresa's short-sleeved Aros in progress, with a pop of orange. From Teresa

A short-sleeved Aros for summer

I was looking for a striped short-sleeved top and couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I turned to PetiteKnit for inspiration. I discovered her Aros Sweater, knit by holding fingering and mohair double with a raglan sleeve. Voilà. I substituted the suggested yarn, used the same needle, got the same gauge, and made it short-sleeved. I added the little pop of orange for something fun for summer.

I came in to learn how to knit and stayed for the people. Six months later, my first sweater is on the needles.
